Taking into consideration the continuous growth of the volume of digital materials, the library in the frames of library's grant project acquired automatically digitizing camera device, which will further accelerate the digitalization process. The library continued its cooperation with editorial boards of the magazines "Armenian Journal of Mathematics" and "Armenian Journal of Physics " supporting with the mounting the articles of the journal to the Web.
The activities were continued on maintaining of the databases “Biographical bibliographies of the academicians of the NAS RA"(10 biographical bibliographies are added) and "The press about the Science". In the section of " Biographical Bibliographies of the Academicians of NAS " a new folder "Foreign members of the NAS of RA" is created (12 biographical bibliographies).
All these databases are available from the FSL website.
From the website of the FSL the brief Armenian version of the "Universal Decimal Classification" is accessible.
Beginning from 2012 the company  "U-COM" provides the Fundamental Scientific Library with a free, open, wireless Internet access.
The computer network of FSL has expanded. There are 14 computers available for readers in the reading halls. The "Internet Center" of FSL continued its work, providing visitors with Internet and computers.
The library is participating in three international projects.
1.    Launching a new Master’s programme “Library and Information science” realized with the International Scientific-Educational centre. Grant from the EU “TEMPUS” project.
“Library and information science” Master’s course is opened in the International Scientific-Educational centre in 2009, where the students will study the new methods of the library automation and management. The disciplines are prepared with the help of the tutors of the faculties of the Library Science of The Robert Gordon University   (Aberdeen, Scotland), University of Barcelona, University of Parma and correspond to the requirements of the European educational system. Now 27 students study in this department.
2.    Upon consideration by the Advisory Panel on Information and Communication Security, NATO Emerging Security Challenges Division, through 'Science for Peace and Security &Partnership Co-operation' programme has awarded Fundamental Scientific Library of NAS with a networking infrastructure grant 'Building Networked Content Creation Centre for Distance Learning Programmes' Mr. Alan Hopkinson from the Middlesex University (London) will act as a NATO country co-director, and Dr. Tigran Zargaryan (from Fundamental Scientific Library of NAS, Yerevan), will act as a country co-director from Armenia.
main objectives of the project are:
A. To obtain high speed photographing equipment which will allow to start massive digitising activities of locally accumulated scholarly content and educational resources.
B. To mount digital content on the ArmCluster nodes.
C. Were possible to copyright content under ‘Creative Commons’ licensing mechanism.
D. To make content available to students, academics, distance learners and researchers.
3.    The ISOC  Community Grants Programme Committee has selected the project 'Establishing a Content Creation Centre in the Fundamental Scientific Library  of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia  for funding.  The National Academy of Sciences with its 30 research institutions is a leading producer of scientific publications in Armenia. The Fundamental Scientific Library (FSL) of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is one of the research institutions of NAS and is the main and largest repository of scientific publications in the Republic of Armenia. It is a powerful information and bibliographical services centre for the whole National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. Currently 3 Open Access journals – ‘Armenian Journal of Physics’ , ‘Armenian Journal of Mathematics’ , and ‘Proceedings of NAS RA: Mechanics’ are published in NAS, and all 3 journals are hosted on the FSL ‘Open Access’ server. Armenian Government has announced distance learning as a priority direction, and has already established legislative basis for building fast, reliable and secure ICT infrastructure for establishing Virtual Learning Environment. Although in recent years the information environment has been greatly improved in Armenia, there is no indication that ‘e-CONTENT’ with components: ‘online course materials’ and ‘online library of full texts’ is being developed.
The aim of this grant is establishment of the brand new Content Creation Centre in Armenia, to mount that content in the Open Access Domain, and to reopen academic e-content to educators, students and researchers all over the world.
Meetings, seminars and discussions on modern trends in the library work with the directors, researchers and librarians of the Research Institutes of National Academy of Sciences were periodically organized. The courses for librarians of the Research Institutions of National Academy of Sciences were organized in order to implement the automation of library processes in the libraries of these institutions.
