PROGRAMME GOALS

The goal of the master’s program in library and information sources is to provide students with the foundation for developing careers as information professionals and to teach them how to use technological advances to meet the changing information needs of a diverse society.

Students in the programme are introduced to the roles and functions of libraries in contemporary society, they become familiar with key policy issues and technological trends, learn to manage and evaluate collections, and to use technology to improve access to information, to become familiar with the library information network management models, to receive basic knowledge about web programming and library website design.

Students who complete the programme are prepared for a diverse variety of careers in library administration, public services, technical services, reference services, and collection development at public, school, academic, and special libraries.
