Մուտքի հնարավորությունը ներառում է հասանելիություն ամսագրերի ընթացիկ տարվա, ինչպես նաև նախորդ չորս տարիների հրատարակություններին:
Scopus –ը (https://www.scopus.com/) վերահսկելի տվյալների միասնական խոշորագույն շտեմարան է, որը պարունակում է գրախոսվող գիտական գրականության համառոտագրության և վկայակոչումների մասին տեղեկություններ՝ տվյալներին հետևելու, վերլուծության և արտացոլման ներկառուցված գործիքներով։ Շտեմարանը ներառում է 25 000 հրատարակություններ 7000 միջազգային հրատարակիչներից՝ բնական, հասարակագիտական, սոցիալական գիտությունների, տեխնիկայի, բժշկության և արվեստի ոլորտներում: Scopus-ի տվյալների որակը ճանաչվել է առաջատար համալսարանների և հետազոտական կազմակերպությունների կողմից, որոնք օգտագործում են այս շտեմարանը գիտահետազոտական աշխատանքների գնահատման, ինչպես նաև THE, QS World University Rankings, Financial Times և այլ վարկանիշային գործակալությունների կողմից՝ աշխարհի համալսարանների վարկանիշները կազմելու համար:
Հասանելիությունն իրականացվում է կազմակերպության IP-հասցեների միջոցով, մուտքի հեռավար կարգաբերման հնարավորությամբ:

The outcome of educational reforms in Armenia, Georgia and Uzbekistan greatly depends on the curricula being taught in the Universities, which is still precarious for ‘Library and Information Science’ studies. The subject is not in demand amongst high school graduates, and those who do undertake the course are not satisfied with the level of teaching and the knowledge obtained: most of the graduates do not get appropriate jobs. There are several considerable problems in teaching library, information and archives courses that are common to the three countries: (a) after the collapse of the Soviet Union, faced with economic problems and the transition to a market economy, librarianship was not a priority of the governments; (b) courses were based on Soviet library science and archive practices and programmes for LIS and archives are focussed on techniques and technical processes, undervaluing the need for the wider knowledge of social processes, science, technology, etc, required to enable library, archive and information services to respond to contemporary demands; (c) courses have not yet fully incorporated the new areas of the disciplines that are common in Western Europe; (d) there is a shortage of modern LIS and archive teaching materials (electronic resources, sample PC applications); (e) pedagogical skills of the LIS and archive teachers and trainers tend to be didactic; (f) familiarity with quality standards is low; (g) these factors contribute to low levels of interest in potential students; (h) competence of teachers and students in the English language is not high, even though English is the dominant language in the discipline globally; (i) there is a shortage of relevant materials in the national languages; (j) no programmes offer lifelong learning or support career advancement for the existing large LIS workforce. It is obvious that introduction of the new curricula covering Library, Information and Archives Studies totally oriented to the EU experience is the only solution to make this profession prestigious and to attract talented and motivated students.
Specific Project Objectives are:
· Planning, preparing and implementing new Library and Information Studies and Archives Masters and Lifelong Learning courses in line with EU standards
· Piloting the training of partner country academic staff and students
· Development of a Lifelong Learning infrastructure
· Establish validation and quality control for these Masters and Lifelong Learning courses
Main Features of the Project are:
· Library and information and archives studies are to be modernized; development of these curricula will benefit university administration research and teaching .
· Staff from Armenia, Georgia and Uzbekistan will undertake masters degrees at EU Universities and staff from the EU Universities will teach masters courses in the partner countries’ universities; in preparation English language courses will be included.
· Library and Archive students will undergo placements in EU universities.
· The infrastructure in institutions in the partner countries will be strengthened to provide modern technology including virtual learning environments and institutional. repositories
Long-term perspectives:
· Through the development of the core skills, competencies and abilities of staff, the project will transform the partner country LIS faculties into first class learning centres in the republics and a sustainable source of further development of human capacity for the global labour market.
· Through increasing the commercial, methodological and consultancy activities and through philanthropic donations and grants, the project’s legacy will be to generate additional financial income streams to support the development of new academic programmes.
· Through the Virtual Learning Environment platform, established in partner country LIS faculties, the project will serve the needs of students from other Universities and other lifelong learners.
· The project will share courses between partner country LIS faculties, thereby saving financial and human resources.

http://armunicat.nla.am/Starting from 1997 Open Society Institute is assisting Armenian library community in using ICTs, enlarging computer networks in the libraries and making Internet accessible for all.In 2001, an OSI grant supported the creation of the Armenian Libraries Union Catalogue ( armunicat.nla.am) for 11 leading libraries, using the ExLibris’s Aleph system (a proprietary product). When this project started, there were no FOSS ILS products available in the library automation market. The FOSS ILS market took off in 2008. There are now many solutions for library automation (the most advanced being Evergreen, Koha, and ABCD).In January 2010, thanks to funding from OSI, FSL has started a one year project “Introducing Free/Open Source Software Library Automation Tools to the Armenian Library Community”.Below is a brief description of this two-fold project:1. Armenian Libraries Union Catalogue: Technical and Software Upgrades. Among the goals is to replace outdated SUN servers (SUN450 servers, OS Solaris, Oracle DBMS) with Intel based server solutions. In addition, there will be an OS migration, from SUN Solaris and Oracle DBMS proprietary products to Linux (RedHat in this case) FOSS solutions. The result will be increased efficiency and productivity of the work being done by the librarians. Technical and software upgrade of the management centre of the Armenian libraries network is a logical continuation of OSI long lasting cooperation with the libraries.2. Introducing FOSS products to the Armenian library community. The goal of this phase of the project is to expand the accumulated skills and knowledge on using Evergreen to other Armenian libraries by conducting training sessions. Currently National Academy of Sciences (NAS) institution libraries are using ‘Evergreen’ ILS for developing the NAS libraries Union catalogue. ( The server and ‘Evergreen’ ILS are hosted and managed by FSL technical staff. FSL staff organised a series of training sessions for NAS institution librarians to introduce the MARC21 format, Evergreen cataloguing templates, Evergreen circulation system, record import using Z39.50 and much more. Currently institution libraries are actively developing the catalogue. Armenian localisation of the system is finished, and FSL staff is finalising also Russian localisation of the system.
Վտանգված արխիվներ ծրագիրը ՀՀ ԳԱԱ հիմնարար գիտական գրադարանին երկու տարի ժամկետով (2008թ. օգոստոս – 2010թ. օգոստոս) շնորհել է դրամաշնորհ` թվայնացման օգնությամբ գրադարանի հնատիպ գրքերի և պարբերական մամուլի պահպանության համար: Այս հավաքածուները գտնվում են խիստ անմխիթար վիճակում և անհրաժեշտ է անհետաձգելի միջոցների դիմել, կանխելու դրանց հետագա քայքայումը: Ծրագիրը նվիրվում է հայկական տպագրության հիմնադրման 500 ամյակին։
Սույն ծրագիրը նպատակ ունի ներկայացնել բաց մատչելիության սկզբունքի վրա հիմնված հրատարակչական մոդել`որպես կոմերցիոն հրատարակչական ծրագրերին այլընտրանք:
“Բաց հասարակության ինստիտուտ” հիմնադրամը` սկսած 1997թ. աջակցում է Հայաստանի գրադարաններին` տեղեկատվական տեխնոլոգիաների կատարելագործման և ընդլայնման գործընթացին:
Ծրագրի տնօրենն է Տիգրան Զարգարյանը:
Այցելության նպատակն է հայ գրադարանավարներին ծանոթացնել Լիտվայի կոնսորցիումի կողմից տարվող աշխատանքներին: Քննարկվող թեմաները կներգրավեն գրադարանային կոնսորցիումի ստեղծման, ակադեմիայի համար էլեկտրոնային պաշարների տրամադրման, հեղինակային իրավունքի և լիցենզավորմանը վերաբերող հարցեր: Բացի այդ, Լիտվայի կոնսորցիումը կներկայացնի թվային գրադարանի գործող ծրագրերը և կծանոթացնի Լիտվայի ակադեմիական գրադարանների ցանցին: Ծրագիրը համատեղ կոորդինացվում է Լիտվայում Էմիլյա Բանիոնիտեի, Հայաստանում` Տիգրան Զարգարյանի կողմից:

Հայաստանում, Վրաստանում և Ուզբեկստանում կատարված ուսումնական բարեփոխումների արդյունքները մեծապես կախված են համալսարաններում դասավանդվող առարկայաշարերի որակից, որոնք «Գրադարանային գործ և տեղեկատվական գիտություն» մասնագիտացման համար դեռ չեն համապատասխանում արդի պահանջներին։ Այս առարկան պահանջարկ չունի շրջանավարտների շրջանում, իսկ նրանք, ովքեր անցնում են այդ դասընթացը դժգոհ են մնում ձեռքբերված գիտելիքների մակարդակից: Շրջանավարտների մեծամասնությունը չի կարողանում գտնել համապատասխան աշխատանք: Կան մի շարք հիմնախնդիրներ, որոնք ընդհանուր են այդ երեք երկրների համարա/ Սովետական Միության փլուզումից հետո, բախվելով տնտեսական դժվարությունների և շուկայական տնտեսության անցման խնդիրներին, գրադարանային գործ մասնագիտացումը առաջնային չի համարվում;բ/ դասընթացները հիմնված են մոդելների վրա, որոնք արդեն հնացած են;գ/ դասընթացերում դեռ ամբողջությամբ ներգրավված չեն գիտության այդ ճյուղի նոր նվաճումները որոնք լայնորեն կիրառվում են Եվրոպական համալսարաններում;դ/ անբավարար են ժամանակակից գրադարանային-տեղեկատվական և արխիվային գործի ասպարեզում ուսումնական նյութերը;ե/ գրադարանային-տեղեկատվական և արխիվային գործը դասավանդող մասնագետների հմտությունը դիդակտիկ ուղղվածություն ունի;զ/ ցածր է իրազեկությունը այս բնագավառում առկա կրթության որակի չափորոշիչների հետ;է/ վերը նշված հանգամանքները, ապագա ուսանողների մոտ նպաստում են հետաքրքրության ցածր մակարդակի առաջացմանը;ը/ անգլերեն լեզվի իմացության մակարդակը թե՛ դասախոսների և թե՛ ուսանողների մոտ ցածր է, չնայած որ այս ոլորտում անգլերենը գերիշխող լեզու է ողջ աշխարհում;
թ/ անբավարար են համապատասխան նյութերը ազգային լեզուներով;ժ/ գրադարանային-տեղեկատվական և արխիվային գործի ասպարեզում ներգրավված աշխատակիցների համար չկան շարունակական կրթության ծրագրեր կամ մասնագիտական վերապատրաստման դասընթացներ: Ակնհայտ է, որ եթե գրադարանային-տեղեկատվական և արխիվային գործի ասպարեզում նախագծվեն ուսումնական նոր ծրագրեր` ամբողջությամբ կողմնորոշված Եվրոպական փորձի վրա, մասնագիտությունը կդառնա ավելի հեղինակություն վայելող և գրավիչ երիտասարդների համար: Ծրագրի նպատակներն են
“Բաց հասարակության ինստիտուտ” հիմնադրամը` սկսած 1997թ. աջակցում է Հայաստանի գրադարաններին տեղեկատվական տեխնոլոգիաների կիրառման, Ինտերնետի հասանելիության ապահովման, համակարգչային ցանցի ընդլայնման խնդիրներում։
Գրադարանային հանրությանը Բաց/Ազատ կոդերով ստեղծված գրադարանային գործընթացների ավտոմատացման ծրագրային համակարգերի ներկայացում նախագիծը հետապնդում է երկու հիմնական նպատակ՝
– Հայաստանի գրադարանային ցանցի կառավարման կենտրոնի տեխնիկական վերազինում:
– Գրադարանային հանրությանը Բաց/Ազատ կոդերով ստեղծված գրադարանային գործընթացների ավտոմատացման ծրագրային համակարգերի ներկայացում։
«Հայաստանի գրադարանային ցանցի կառավարման կենտրոնի տեխնիկական վերազինում» փուլը Հայաստանի գրադարանների համակարգչային ցանցի ստեղծում ծրագրի տրամաբանական շարունակությունն է, որի նախաձեռնողը և ֆինանսավորողը Բաց հասարակության ինստիտուտ հիմնադրամն է եղել։ Ներկա փուլում նախատեսվում է թե՛ բարոյապես և թե՛ տեխնիկապես հնացած սերվերային լուծումները փոխարինել ժամանակակից տեխնիկական միջոցներով։ Սա էապես կբարձրացնի կատարվող աշխատանքների որակը։
Բաց/Ազատ կոդերով ստեղծված գրադարանային գործընթացների ավտոմատացման ծրագրային համակարգերի ներկայացում փուլում նախատեսված է գրադարանավարներին ծանոթացնել անվճար ծրագրային լուծումների հետ, որոնք այլընտրանք են կոմերցիոն փաթեթներին։
Ծրագրի տնօրենն է Տիգրան Զարգարյանը:
Ինտերնետ Միություն (ISOC) դրամաշնորհային ծրագիր կոմիտեն ֆինանսավորման համար ընտրել է ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Հիմնարար գիտական գրադարանի «բովանդակության ձևավորման կենտրոնի ստեղծում» ծրագիրը:
ՀՀ Գիտությունների ազգային ակադեմիայի հետ, իր 30 – հետազոտական հաստատությունների հետ գիտական հրապարակումների առաջատար ստեղծողն է Հայաստանում: Հիմնարար գիտական գրադարանը (ՀԳԳ) Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Գիտությունների ազգային ակադեմիայի (ԳԱԱ) հետազոտական հաստատություններից մեկն է և Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում հիմնական և ամենամեծ գիտական հրապարակումների շտեմարանը :
Դա Հայաստանի Գիտությունների ազգային ակադեմիայի ամենահզոր տեղեկատվական և մատենագիտական ծառայությունների կենտրոնն է. Ներկայումս ԳԱԱ-ն հրապարակում է 3 բաց մատչելիության ամսագիր – «ֆիզիկայի հայկական հանդես»,« Հայկական մաթեմատիկական հանդես» և «ՀՀ ԳԱԱ տեղեկագիր. Մեխանիկա» և այդ բոլոր 3 ամսագրերը տեղադրված են ՀԳԳ կայք էջում։
Հայաստանի կառավարությունը հայտարարել է հեռաուսուցումը որպես գերակա ուղղություն և Վիրտուալ կրթական միջավայրի կառուցման արագ, հուսալի եւ անվտանգ ենթակառուցվածքի ստեղծման համար արդեն հաստատել է օրենսդրական հիմք:
Չնայած, որ վերջին տարիներին Հայաստանում տեղեկատվական միջավայրը բավականին բարելավվել է, այնուամենայնիվ չկա որևէ ցուցանիշ, որ մշակված է «էլեկտրոնային բովանդակություն»-ը իր «առցանց դասընթացի նյութեր» և «առցանց գրադարան ամբողջական տեքստեր» բաղադրիչներով։
Սույն դրամաշնորհի նպատակն է Հայաստանում նոր «բովանդակության ձևավորման կենտրոն»-ի ստեղծումը, այդ բովանդակության տեղադրումը Բաց մատչելիության տիրույթում և ուսումնական Էլեկտրոնային բովանդակության վերաբացումը ողջ աշխարհի մանկավարժների, ուսանողների եւ հետազոտողների համար:
ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Հիմնարար գիտական գրադարանը ՆԱՏՕ-ից ստացել է դրամաշնորհ հեռաուսուցման համար բովանդակության ձևավորման կենտրոնի ստեղծման նպատակով։ ՆԱՏՕ-ի կողմից ծրագրի եվրոպական համատնօրեն է նշանակված Ալան Հոպկինսոնը (Միդլսեքս համալսարան, Լոնդոն), Հայաստանից՝ Տիգրան Զարգարյանը (ՀՀ ԳԱԱ ՀԳԳ)։
Ծրագրի հիմնական նպատակներն են.
ա/ արագագործ նկարահանող սարքի ձեռք բերում
բ/ թվային բովանդակության տեղադրում «ԱրմԿլաստեր»-ի հանգույցներում
գ/ Հնարավորության դեպքում շտեմարանները «Ստեղծագործական համայնքենր» հեղինակային իրավունքի արտոնագրով պաշտպանելը
դ/ Բովանդակությունը հասանելի դարձնել հանրության լայն խավերին
Այս նախիգիծը 2007 թ. ՆԱՏՕ-ի կողմից ֆինանսավորված և ՀԳԳ-ի կողմից իրականացված PDD(CP)(EAP.NIG 983118) “ԳԱԱ ցանցային ենթակառույցները GÉANT-ին համապատասխանեցնել» ծրագրի տրամաբանական շարունակությունն է
Ծրագրի իրականացումը պահանջում է տեղային հեռահաղորդակցման սարքակազմի և մանրաթելային- լուսային ցանցի կատարելագործում, ԳԱԱ գիտահետազոտական ինստիտուտների գրադարանների համակարգչային ցանցի և սարքավորումների ընդլայնում, ուսուցողական դասընթացների կազմակերպում ինչպես գրադարանավարների, այնպես էլ գրադարանից օգտվողների համար:
Համակարգի անդամ ինստիտուտների գրադարանները կներգրավվեն ՀԳԳ-ի կողմից գործարկվող թվայնացման գործընթացներին:

Within this framework, the leading scientific institution in the country, the National Academy of Sciences, is building a repository with the goal of enabling access to the wealth of its scholarly literature. The portal of such digital repository uses Greenstone open source software and has recently gone public. As a result of this initiative, the annonated abstracts of the Academy’s 13 journals, whose publication started as back as the 1940s, covering all aspects of Science, Technology and Medicine alongside other publications will be available. The portal is open to all Armenian research institutions that are willing to participate and a special software to convert the bibliographic data into the Greenstone format has been developed. The objective of the visit is to familiarize Armenian librarians with the work carried out by the Lithuanian consortium, and training topics will include library consortium building, negotiation of e-resources and promotion for the academia, copyright and licensing. Furthermore, the Lithuanian Consortium will present ongoing digital library projects and the Lithuanian Academic Library Network. The programme is jointly coordinated by Emilija Banionyte and Tigran Zargaryan, from the Lithuanian and Armenian sides respectively.

Upon consideration by the Advisory Panel on Information and Communication Security, NATO Emerging Security Challenges Division, through ‘Science for Peace and Security &Partnership Co-operation’ programme has awarded Fundamental Scientific Library of NAS with a networking infrastructure grant ‘Building Networked Content Creation Centre for Distance Learning Programmes’ Mr. Alan Hopkinson from the Middlesex University (London) will act as a NATO country co-director, and Dr. Tigran Zargaryan (from Fundamental Scientific Library of NAS, Yerevan), will act as a country co-director from Armenia.
main objectives of the project are:
A. To obtain high speed photographing equipment which will allow to start massive digitising activities of locally accumulated scholarly content and educational resources.
B. To mount digital content on the ArmCluster nodes.
C. Were possible to copyright content under ‘Creative Commons’ licensing mechanism.
D. To make content available to students, academics, distance learners and researchers.
This project is logical continuation of the NATO Networking Infrastructure Grant PDD(CP)(EAP.NIG 983118) ‘Harmonization of the Academy of Sciences Network Infrastructure for Connecting to GÉANT’, awarded to FSL in 2007.
The ISOC Community Grants Programme Committee has selected the project ‘Establishing a Content Creation Centre in the Fundamental Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia for funding. The National Academy of Sciences with its 30 research institutions is a leading producer of scientific publications in Armenia. The Fundamental Scientific Library (FSL) of he National Academy of Sciencesthe National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is one of the research institutions of NAS and is the main and largest repository of scientific publications in the Republic of Armenia. It is a powerful information and bibliographical services centre for the whole National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. Currently 3 Open Access journals – ‘Armenian Journal of Physics’ , ‘Armenian Journal of Mathematics’ , and ‘Proceedings of NAS RA: Mechanics’ are published in NAS, and all 3 journals are hosted on the FSL ‘Open Access’ server. Armenian Government has announced distance learning as a priority direction, and has already established legislative basis for building fast, reliable and secure ICT infrastructure for establishing Virtual Learning Environment. Although in recent years the information environment has been greatly improved in Armenia, there is no indication that ‘e-CONTENT’ with components: ‘online course materials’ and ‘online library of full texts’ is being developed.
The aim of this grant is establishment of the brand new Content Creation Centre in Armenia, to mount that content in the Open Access Domain, and to reopen academic e-content to educators, students and researchers all over the world.
The Endangered Archives Programme awarded a two years grant to the Fundamental Scientific library of the National Academy of Sciences (2008, August-2010, August) to support the protection of rare books and periodicals of the library through digitization.
These collections are in very poor condition and urgent measures are required to prevent their further destruction. The program is devoted to the 500th anniversary of the establishment of Armenian printing.
In order to do so, local telecommunication hardware and the fiber optic network will be upgraded and the 30 research libraries of the National Academy of Sciences will be modernized greatly with computers and other networking equipment. This measure intends to address the dramatic lack of computers in libraries in the country. By way of illustration, as of today, the library of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography is the only one out the 30 libraries to have but 1 Pentium computer. In addition, the grant will include training courses for librarians and other user groups on accessing and benefit from eIFL and other resources. The expected results of the project are to improve the telecommunications infrastructure in Armenia, revitalize and modernize the library network in the member institutions of the Academy of Sciences, get in line with European library management standards, and be able to access to world digital resources, services and scientific information. In parallel, the participating libraries will get involved in the digitization activities that the Fundamental Scientific Library is conducting currently.
The project is jointly coordinated by Alan Hopkinson, of Middlesex University, from the side of NATO partner country and Tigran Zargaryan from the Armenian side.
