Our Vision

Our vision for the first quarter of the 21st century is to participate in the joint activities on building ‘Knowledge-based Society’ in Armenia. To decrease the digital divide and to develop integrated and interactive networked communities, we are planning to work actively for solving the problem of “the 3 C’s”.

  •  Connectivity: linking digital libraries and on-line educational resources to broadband research and academic networks – so that Armenians will have fast access to digital resources important to their learning, research, businesses and work.
  • Content: developing activities for the benefits of users in the following key areas: scholarly communication; digital library services; services and facilities for academic institution libraries – so that over time information and knowledge accumulated in the Armenian libraries will be transformed to the digital form.
  • Competency: supporting learning and teaching in LIS for the library community and students across Armenia, so that content creators and content users will have sufficient knowledge for creating, managing, preserving, accessing and retrieving Armenian’s digital assets.
